EJLS Logo Design

Howdy Y'all! This is my last Digital Media assignment. 😭 It’s okay, though. I’ll make this blog post count. This logo was made for Eual J. Landry Sr, Educational Programs Center. It is a Center in my school district, without a logo or much branding at all. As a Center that helps its student’s in many ways, they were hoping to rebrand and recontextualize the place. My class went to the center for a tour. Although I didn’t go, they got great pictures of the place. The only guidelines: No Mascot, Blue and Yellow. With that in mind, let’s get started.

I started by trying to think of what I associated the colors with. In the end, I just ended up sketching, then ending up on the next train of thought. This happened until I just jumped into Illustrator. I used the pen tool(we’re on better terms now) to draw a ribbon and a crystal. We ignore this attempt. It looks alive.

Somewhere around that time, Mr. Growl pointed out that no one was making a text based logo. I never did that before, so I tried it out. I ended up with so many variations of a logo that either used the ribbon or the crystal. I even went to their website and found a paragraph that I turned into a phrase, “Believe, Achieve, Become”.

Finally, after looking through fonts, layouts, and whatever the first iteration was, I finished. Well almost. As my last project, it was my last presentation. I put my all into it. Some of the students and staff from Eual J. Landry were there, along with other LPAC Facilitators and Team Members.

It turned out really well. I’m very grateful to have had the experience in Digital Media with Mr. Growl and the other Team Members.
